IHE CEO participates in study modelling COVID-19 projections in Alberta

IHE CEO, Dr. Chris McCabe, in his capacity as a health economics professor at the University of Alberta, participated in a study with colleagues from British Columbia: Dr. Caroline Colijn (SFU), Dr. Dean Karlen (UVic), Dr. Sarah Otto (UBC), Dr. Daniel Coombs (UBC), Dr. Eric Cytrynbaum (UBC), and Dr. Rob James (evidently.ca)  which explores possible scenarios of the impact of COVID-19 on hospitalizations in Alberta in the fall of 2021. The report takes into account vaccination rates, efficacy of vaccines against transmission and the relationship between cases and hospital occupancy in Alberta and elsewhere. The modelling report was posted publicly on August 13th and resulted in a number of media reports.  Note: modelling report(s) updated September 1st, 2021 (see below).
