IHE welcomes Dr. Dat Tran as Health Economist

The IHE is delighted to have Dr. Dat Tran, former NOAHE Health Economics Scholar Award (Fellowship) recipient and recently appointed University of Alberta adjunct professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, join the IHE team.

Dat Tran profile pictureThe IHE is delighted to introduce its newest staff member, Dr. Dat Tran. Dr. Tran, a former recipient of the Network of Alberta Health Economists (NOAHE) Health Economics Scholar Award (2017-2018), has joined the IHE as a Health Economist. Dr. Tran was also recently appointed as an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Alberta.

Dr. Tran completed a PhD in Health Services and Policy Research at the University of Alberta, and is also a pharmacist by training. As a PhD student, Dr. Tran was awarded the University of Alberta School of Public Health 2018 Dean’s Gold Medal for his exceptional academic performance in completing his thesis research on improving care and health outcomes for cardiac patients.

Dr. Tran’s main research interests and expertise are in the areas of HIV/AIDS, monitoring and evaluation, health system strengthening, health information management system, cardiac health, health outcomes and health services research, and health economic evaluations.

The IHE is an independent, not-for-profit organization that performs excellence in health economics research and health technology assessment.
