IHE supports development of Guidelines for the Economic Evaluation of Vaccination Programs in Canada
The Institute of Health Economics is pleased that the final version of the guidelines for the economic evaluation of vaccination programs in Canada were recently released by the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI). The following IHE staff reviewed the draft guidelines and welcomed the opportunity to participate in the process: Kate Harback, Christopher McCabe (former CEO), Erin Kirwin, Jeff Round, Sasha van Katwyk and Ellen Rafferty (who also served as a member of the NACI Economics Task Group).
“I am excited by the release of the guidelines for the economic evaluation of vaccination programs in Canada. This is an area of research that has been skyrocketing in recent years. It is important to have guidelines that encourage consistent methods and reporting for evaluating immunization programs across the country, especially with the large number of new vaccines coming down the pipeline”. – Dr. Ellen Rafferty, Senior Economist, Institute of Health Economics, Member NACI Economics Task Group.
