IHE joins Global Partners in Announcing 2020 UNIVANTS Awards

The IHE is pleased to have collaborated with global health industry leaders in launching the UNIVANTS of Healthcare Excellence awards and to announce the 2020 award winners. The UNIVANTS of Healthcare Excellence Award Program has recently announced their 2020 winners. The 2020 submissions included hospitals, commercial laboratories, reference laboratories, clinics and rural community care. Internship Opportunities at IHE

The Institute of Health Economics has two internship opportunities in our Health Economics and Industry Partnership Programs. The deadline for application is November 27th, 2020. These are made possible with support from BioTalent Canada Industry Partnerships – IHE Internship The focus of the internship project is on the economic evaluation of new health care technologies to determine the conditions under which they might be considered cost-effective and should be considered for reimbursement by health systems.  The applicant will be requested to support junior and senior economic modelers with the development and interpretation of economic models.  This will include evidence synthesis activities to model current standard of care, and to parameterize an economic model.  Further…

Innovative Approaches for Pharmaceutical Management to be Explored in Public/Private Collaboration

The Institute of Health Economics has established the Health Technology Innovation Platform (HTIP): a three (3) year, $1.8 million collaboration supported by Boehringer Ingelheim, GlaxoSmithKline, and Roche Canada, which will explore new approaches for the assessment and adoption of innovative  pharmaceuticals. (NOTE: additional partner – Takeda Canada Inc.  joined in Spring of 2021). Alberta Project Validates First Synthetic Health Dataset in Province

  EDMONTON, Alberta, Oct. 21, 2020 -- The health innovation community has one more approach towards increasing the timely and safe utilization of health data thanks to a research project co-sponsored by Health City and the Institute of Health Economics (IHE) in partnership with Alberta Innovates, Replica Analytics, and University of Alberta. Unique in Canada, this project was initiated to provide insight into the value and validity of synthetic (simulated) data in health services research.
