This report, a collaborative project among the Canadian Population Health Initiative (CPHI), Health Canada, and academic institutions across Canada, provides gender relevant analyses and considerations for policy and program development, based on currently available national secondary health data. It focuses on “key” women’s health issues, builds on the literature and presents data from national administrative and survey databases. The report highlights gender differences and identifies disparities in the distribution of determinants of health, health behaviours, health outcomes, health care utilization and vulnerable subgroups of women.
