Innovation Forum I - Paying for what works imageIn December 2008, the Institute of Health Economics launched a series of semi-annual innovation forums whose goal is to bring together senior public and private sector decision-makers to address policy issues of importance in the health care system, not just in Alberta, but to all of Canada and the international community, as well.

Emceed by Andy Greenshaw, Associate Vice President of Research at the University of Alberta, the first session considered the following theme: Paying for What Works—Comparative Effectiveness of Health Technologies and Programs. A variety of perspectives examined established approaches and those under development to compare different technologies, programs, and systems of care.
