Ken Bond is the Director of HTA and External Relationships.
He is the former Director, Patient Engagement and International Affairs at CADTH and oversaw the strategic and operational development of three main programs at CADTH: Patient Engagement, Ethics, and International Affairs. For several years, he also oversaw CADTH’s Horizon Scanning Program. Under Ken’s direction, CADTH significantly expanded the scope of its activities to integrate patient experiences and perspectives into its health technology assessments and developed a process for the explicit consideration of ethical issues within its HTA work. He also helped CADTH grow and strengthen its relationships with its international counterparts, fostering better communication and partnerships with other HTA agencies and involvement in national and international networks.
Prior to joining CADTH, Ken was a Research Associate at the Institute of Health Economics (IHE) and a researcher and project coordinator at the University of Alberta Evidence-based Practice Center (ARCHE), both located in Edmonton, Alberta. Ken is an active member of the international HTA community, and serves as a co-chair of the HTAi Ethics Interest Group, as a member of the Steering Committee for the Patient and Citizen Involvement Interest Group, and as an Associate Editor for the International Journal for Technology Assessment in Health Care.
