Ali Unsal


Economic Modeler

Ali Unsal is an Economic Modeler/Health Economist at the Institute of Health Economics (IHE) and Professor in the School of Business at Fanshawe College, London. He holds a BSc degree in Health Administration from Hacettepe University, a MSc degree in Economics from Bilecik Seyh Edebali University and another MSc degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics specializing in Health Economics from Western University (formerly University of Western Ontario). Ali’s research interests center around evidence-based decision making and decision analytic modelling in the areas of precision medicine, inflammatory bowel diseases and hematology/oncology.

In his early career Ali has worked as a practical nurse in hematology and oncology inpatient clinics for 5 years. After his clinical experience Ali has worked as a Professor at Bilecik Seyh Edebali University where he taught Health Economics and Health Care Management subjects for 8 years. During his time at Bilecik Seyh Edebali University he focused on the economic and health disparities between Turkey and European Union countries, participated a number of symposiums and trainings in eastern European countries by receiving UNESCO and ERASMUS research and training scholarships and he has been invited as a visiting Professor from University of Riga, Latvia, Warsaw University of Life Sciences and University of Rzeszow, Poland.
