Consensus Development Conference Program
The Institute of Health Economics' Consensus Development Conference Program is modeled on US National Institute of Health's CDCP, considered the originator of such health-sector events. The purpose of a consensus conference is to evaluate the available scientific information on a specific issue and develop a consensus statement that advances the understanding of the issue under consideration.
To date, the IHE has held successful Consensus Development Conferences on:
- Self-Monitoring in Diabetes (November 2006)
- Low Birth Weight (April 2007)
- Depression in Adults (October 2008)
- Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (October 2009)
More Consensus Conferences are planned on a variety of topics, including:
- Legal Issues Relating to FASD
- Neurological Disorders
- Screening for Prostate Cancer
- Childhood Obesity
- Parkinson's Disease
Additional information on the IHE's CDC Program is available online or by contacting us at emorin@ihe.ca.
