Since April 1st, 1995 information on all severely injured children (those with an Injury Severity Score of ≥ 12) seen at a trauma center has been analyzed and entered into the Alberta Trauma Registry. When reading the report it is essential to consider that the data set represents only a portion of injured children in the province. Note that in this report, the age range included is 0 to 19 years for both the most recent data and the five-year review.
