This publication is the sixth Live Birth Trends report prepared by the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information (the Centre). A majority of the indicators presented were derived from the Live Birth Notification (LBN) System, maintained by the Centre. The LBN System contains data from the Live Birth Notification Form completed in provincial health care facilities and provided to the Centre by the Vital Statistics Division, Department of Government Services and Lands. The forms capture clinical and demographic data for both resident and non-resident live births occurring in the province.
