IHE and CAPT announce new partnership in support of IHE Life Sciences Open Innovation Platform

The Institute of Health Economics (IHE) and the Canadian Association for Population Therapeutics (CAPT) announce a new partnership in support of the IHE Life Sciences Open Innovation Platform™.

The IHE recently launched the IHE Life Sciences Open Innovation Platform™, an on-going/ living, online crowdsourcing or “ideasourcing” tool, used to engage a wide range of stakeholders to catalyze policy conversations and stimulate the formation of teams to solve complex health policy challenges.

Since its launch in late 2016, the IHE Life Sciences Open Innovation Platform™ has had a growing membership, with a composition reflective of key stakeholders for CAPT that includes clinicians, health technology assessment (HTA) producers and users, health economists, government, academics, industry, and patient groups.

As part of this partnership, the IHE will establish a Working Group made up of representatives of CAPT and the IHE to develop and action strategic, timely campaigns (topics in which input is being requested) of significant interest to the life sciences community. The organizations will also work together on communication efforts to recruit members to the Platform and to promote activities of interest to both IHE and CAPT audiences (e.g., CAPT Annual Conference), as well as additional actions to stimulate strong engagement from the community.

The current campaigns on the Platform address the topic of biosimilars. An interim report on these biosimilars campaigns will be created August 1st, with leading ideas to be shared with policy, industry, and community leaders. Additional near-term campaigns are in development in the area of real-world evidence and precision health. Information gathered through select campaigns may support related workshops at the CAPT 2017 Annual Conference, October 22-24, in Toronto, ON.

The IHE is looking forward to working with CAPT and the success of this IHE-CAPT partnership.
