IHE staff honoured in 2 annual awards

IHE's Executive Assistant, Kris Schindel, has been honoured for her work with the Canadian Association for Population Therapeutics (CAPT). Kris is the first winner of the new Kris Schindel Award, which will be given each year at the CAPT annual conference as a tribute to excellence and human involvement. Kris was the Administrative Officer for CAPT from 2000 to 2011. For more information, go to http://www.capt-actp.com
Also, a reminder that the Egon Jonsson Award honouring IHE's Executive Director and CEO will be presented at the HTAi Annual Meeting June 23-27 in Bilbao, Spain. Beginning in 2010, the Egon Jonsson Award is given each year to the authors of an outstanding paper published in the International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care, the official journal of Health Technology Assessment International. Winners are selected by HTAi's Scientific and Professional Programs Committee, and receive an award that includes a cash prize of $1,000. Dr. Jonsson was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal from its founding in 1985 until 2010.

IHE Releases Report on the Use of Fecal Transplantation

The Institute of Health Economics (IHE) Health Technology Assessment (HTA) group has released Fecal transplantation for the treatment of Clostridium difficile-associated disease or ulcerative colitis, a report commissioned as part of a long-term, ongoing contract between the Institute and Alberta Health and Wellness.

IHE Releases Addictions/Mental Health in the Workplace Report

IHE is pleased to release the final report of The Alberta Survey of Addictive Behaviours and Mental Health in the Workforce: 2009. The document's authors, Dr. Gus Thompson, Dr. Carolyn Dewa (U of T), and Dr. Phil Jacobs, oversaw interviews of 2,817 Alberta workers and 363 employers of varying sizes across all economic sectors. The final product is the result of many months of analysis and writing.
