IHE Mazankowski* Award in Health Economics

IHE is creating a prestigious health economics prize, whose roll-out will feature three distinct phases.

The First Step
In 2005, IHE established a $20,000 Mazankowski* Award in Health Economics, which was handed out in both 2006 and 2007. Eligibility was limited to IHE researchers.

The Second Step
The IHE Board is working to increase the prize value to $50,000, to be awarded at IHE's discretion in recognition of the exceptional contributions of a Canadian health economist. Selection criteria and the nomination process are being developed.

The Third Step
IHE's long-term goal is to increase the award substantially, opening it to health economists world-wide, and creating a de facto "Health Economics Nobel Prize."
