Tara Schuller, BA, MSc, is the Executive Manager of the secretariat of the International Network of Agencies for Health Technology Assessment (INAHTA) and a Senior Research Fellow in Health Policy at the Institute of Health Economics.  

Tara brings extensive international training and leadership experience to the IHE where she contributes research and policy analysis to IHE initiatives, specializing in health technology assessment, pharmaceutical reimbursement and qualitative methodologies.   In her role as the Executive Manager of INAHTA, she oversees operations and outputs to achieve strategic objectives of the network of 50 publicly-funded HTA agencies in 30 countries.

Prior to joining INAHTA, Tara was the Manager of Policy Programs at HTAi, serving as the scientific secretariat of the Global Policy Forum and managing other scientific programs within the society.  Tara has over fifteen years of applied health research and management experience in Canada and internationally, with proven skills and commitment to advance evidence-informed decision making to improve health and health systems grounded in social democratic principles.   

Tara was the recipient of the European Commission Erasmus Mundus Scholarship for a double Master’s degree in health, population and social policy at the École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), France, and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain. Tara is fluent in three languages and values cultural sensitivity to foster trust and mutual understanding in multistakeholder contexts.
